Chocolate Date Nut Balls

I adapted this recipe from a recipe I received from one of my mom's good friends, Alicia. These are great for an afternoon or evening snack or for when you need something for your sweet tooth :) They can be made into bars or balls! Try them!!

Chocolate Date Nut Balls
(serves 8)

Ingredients:
12 medjool dates, pitted
1/2 c. almonds
1/2 c. hazelnuts
1 (4 oz. bar) dark chocolate
2 Tbsp hemp seeds
2 Tbsp chia seeds

Directions:
1. Start melting chocolate in a double boiler.  If you don't have a double boiler, fill a medium saucepan with about 1 c. water and set another medium sized-saucepan or metal bowl on top to heat and melt the chocolate over medium heat (see picture).

2. Chop dates, almonds, and hazelnuts in a food processor  Once nuts are finely chopped and chocolate is melted, mix both together.

3. Form the mixture into balls (or a bars).  Roll the balls in a mixture of the hemp and chia seeds (or top the bars with the seeds).

4. Refrigerate & Enjoy!
